Hi Panda Lovers
My new home is going great guns and would love to see you there.
You can get your fill of TV, FILM, OP ED PIECES, and BRISBANE AUSTRALIA FOCUSED PIECES.
Some of the popular tv shows I review are:
SMALLVILLE, VAMPIRE DIARIES, NIKITA, THE WALKING DEAD, CAPRICA, FRINGE, BOARDWALK EMPIRE, MAD MEN, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, HAWAII FIVE-0, COMMUNITY and many more.
Some come visit.
You can also follow me on Twitter where I link my new articles where I talk back to my followers and love to hear your feedback.
What all the cool New Cap City players are wearing.
The idea of ethnicity is re-explored through flash backs and choices by the Adama family. Daniel makes yet another deal with the devil. The Avenging Angels are the latest fad.
The idea that honest work like farming could be so distasteful to others.
One’s own choosing to return to the soil.
Sam and Joseph’s journey as children.
Daniel being even more devious.
Everyone has their own agenda.
I still lack empathy for Amanda.
That stupid editing between V-World and Caprica.
Tamara and Zoe aren’t strong enough actors to pull of their current story lines.
This was an incredibly strong character driven episode. It is a shame that just as this series/season found its feet, they were removed out from under. I write this having seen The Heavens Will Rise, and I found this episode a perfect counterpoint for the next step.
Dear Santa. I would like a pony, a puppy, oh and not to die alone.
What a left behind has returned. Hope is dashed. Love makes hard decisions and a wish is made reality.
The nice little twist at the end.
The “something missing” effect.
Greer’s farewell to Chloe.
What happened last week seems to be forgotten.
A glimmer of hope once again smashed by the show (including buy in by audience of TJ’s baby)
Unnecessary pain and suffering.
For the love of pete, please do something with your minor characters. Volker is begging for a real story – he is probably the most interesting of the minor players and what I have seen of Patrick Gilmore’s acting here and in Riese, he could deliver something really strong, funny, interesting – anything! Or how about some more Vanessa James- I would even take more Brody (and yes while Kelamis is an Aussie – I don’t think his character is as interesting as Gilmore’s). We were going somewhere with James and then the wheels just fell off. The main characters are decidedly boring with only Greer and Eli still really engaging. Please!!!
Here little dinosaur creature...
Grief. Revenge thy name is dinosaur like creatures but your middle name is Rush.
It didn’t suck.
I did like Eli’s reaction.
The lines between right and wrong are redrawn yet again.
No more Gin.
Young, worst leader ever or worst leader ever.
Still no minor character development (other than the two who just died).
Rush, bullet to head now please. Over this character – totally, well and truly over this character.
Scott, boy scout or girl guide?
Let's talk about HOPE!
Seriously is no one ever allowed to be happy on that bloody vessel? When is it going to be panto night? BEHIND YOU! Right now, they aren’t living or fighting for anything, just surviving, and that isn’t living. Every time there is a brief moment of happiness the clouds open and the floods begin again. On one level last night’s episode was a dark little romp, on the other it was incredibly frustrating. What they need is a Katara character to wax lyrically and bossily about hope a bit.
The exits are located here, here and here.
A trap is set for a STO member hiding in plain sight amongst Caprica’s finest. Lucy Rand arrives on Gemenon, hijinks ensue. Clarice’s religious fervour knows no bounds. Amanda in the Lion’s Den. Daniel is running out of time and discovers an uncomfortable truth. Sam can’t believe Joseph and Joseph sells out his morals and memories.
Even more reasons why the clyons are monotheistic.
Great set piece on the jump ship even if it was predictable.
Sam’s reaction when he finds out about the cylons and just to whom they are being sold.
The cylon in action.
The harsh true nature of the STO exhibited both on Geminon and on Caprica.
No Zoe again which makes me fearful or a Zoe centric ep coming our way.
Grace – shudderific.
What ever happened to Serge?
On the heels of the announcement of their cancellation – Blowback reminds us why this can be such a strong show. Unfortunately we spent too much time on the Greystones (particularly Daniel and to some extent Zoe) in the middle of this journey – and they aren’t really where the story is at. Yes they created the cylons but their real “birth” isn’t their building, but their evolution – which seems to be outside of Greystone Industries. The Tauran subplot is also strong, as is the STO when it isn’t just religious rhetoric. Unfortunately it is too late for this show, but I will continue to delve into the world before the Fall on Caprica.
No one can hate themselves more than Daniel right now.
Daniel Greystone works through his mistakes and grief. Amanda Greystone fully immerses into the world of sister of Clarice. Sam Adama gets his patriotism on. Joseph Adama gets lucky.
The Tauron subplot.
Character development of Sam – why are only learning of this now?
Don’t piss of someone with access to a Cylon.
Acting of Anita Torrance’s Mar-Beth – plank of wood anyone? She is Australian isn’t she?
No Lucy Rand.
I am sure many people who watched this ep would have thought, OMG so slow! But it wasn’t slow – it was pure character driven drama – which is what the show should be. This episode worked because it wasn’t trying to address too many themes at once, and the themes they did discuss were pure and honest.
Can we PLEASE get some minor character development?
Destiny plays silly buggars. Scott steps up. Eli gets lucky. Young almost grows a pair. Rush is very Rush.
Nice twist on a Stargate episode staple.
Great CGU on the repeated scene – esp the last one with the wind and light on Young.
Chloe is still dull – hopefully not for too much longer.
Young. Hope the character finally improves.
Not nearly enough Lucian alliance.
Getting sick of saying this, but no minor character development.
No new planet again (last week doesn’t count).
A stronger episode – but certainly not approaching one of their bests. It was mostly solid, but another bad ep and I am putting SGU on notice.
You'd faint too if you had to deliver this dialogue.
Characters I don’t like are main players in stories told multiple times already in the Stargate franchise, only with the subtle retelling of a hammer on a date with an egg.
The arrangement at the end of the ep was ok, at least it wasn’t woefully depressing.
Mildly interesting outcome though entirely predictable from the first few moments of the ep.
Standalone ep in a series whose arc has stalled.
No minor character development.
Yet another hallucination story.
Colonel Young worst leader ever or worst leader ever?
Stupid portrayal of women yet again.
No Lucian Alliance.
No new tech.
No real threat (like the main character is going to die…).
Didn’t realise how unattractive most of the cast were – dim lighting is quite flattering.
I am creating a whole new rating for this one – graphic will come over the weekend when I have time.
A massacre in a massacre in a massacre
Hostage. Euthanasia. Cleaning. Manipulation. Battle for mind and heart.
Vergis telling Greystone he didn’t have the stones.
No Adama family development.
Lucy’s arc (yawn).
Pretty much the whole episode.
I was quite excited when this ep opened, as it seemed like we were going to do a New Cap City centric ep. We did, but it wasn’t the storyline I was hoping for – I don’t know what I wanted, but two 45kg girls trying to fight and then deciding to braid each other’s hair sure as frak wasn’t it.
Do Shapeshifters Dream of Electric Sheep (Fringe) was a much better attempt at understanding what is it that makes someone ‘human.’ The whole hallucinating avatar was frustrating and the battle scene annoying on multiple levels. There were some moments throughout the duration of the ep when I thought YES – but nothing happened. I should check who wrote it – cause it was unstructured, out of character and lacking in depth. One twitterer in my stream asked me if Avatar Zoe had created her own Avatar Zoe. Yes, the writing was that messy.
Incase you missed it – there is a new BSG spinoff. I get what they were trying to achieve, but think they failed miserably – are they trying to get cancelled? With eps like TWLB, the writing isn’t just on the wall for Caprica, the grave is being dug.
I still can't see him without remembering that awful pre-Fall drinking binge.
If you don’t follow the awesome Jace via @televisionary (who also writes for @thedailybeast FYI) you won’t have seen this yet.
Blood and Chrome is being pushed from a webseries into a pilot as a the lead for a new BSG series.
Caprica’s speed (or lack of it) and day to day routine life on Caprica has failed to inspire many viewers who want to see vipers pew pew pewing in space.
Blood and Chrome is a young Adama (post tween as he is in Caprica) as an Ensign at the start of the Cylon war.
The writing is on the wall in New Cap City it seems. I just hope we get some resolution.
